Location

Mingary was established on the coastal fringes of our 10,000 hectare estate as it’s location offered a strategic stronghold for the various powers who have claimed control of the surrounding area over the last seven centuries. Looking out onto the Sound of Mull, one of Scotland’s most spectacular stretches of water, Mingary once connected ancient clans to Skye, the Small Isles and Mull.

Just a short distance from the village of Kilchoan, the Castle and it’s rocky outcrop are surrounded by spectacular views and awe-inspiring mountains, moorland and seawater. Mingary’s visitors share the surroundings with a vibrant community of rare and beautiful flora and fauna, that often make for a highlight of the time spent here.
