Achateny Cottage

Words don’t do this cottage justice, but the photos speak for themselves. Originally the Stockman’s cottage for Achateny farm, with a humble one-room bothy on the end where the shepherd lived. The views towards the islands of Eigg, Rum and Skye are anything but humble however.

Soak in the magnificent sunsets from the sun porch as the deer make their way to the coast to graze – you’ll find their hoofprints on the beach in the morning, alongside the tracks of otters and the prints of seabirds. This beach’s white sands, some of the most beautiful on the Peninsula, are only a short walk away.

Achateny cottage has one double room, one twin, one room with bunk-beds and two bathrooms. The kitchen has cooker, microwave, fridge with freezing compartment, washing machine and dishwasher.

Further Information

All of our properties are supplied by private water sources, burns or springs. The water is tested by the local authority environmental health department each year and is perfectly safe to drink and to use for washing or cooking. Guests who may prefer the taste of processed water rather than the real thing are welcome to bring their own supplies of drinking water.

On occasion, this cottage is available to book for 3 days at a time. Please phone our estate office to check availability.

Please note that we do not allow camper vans at the holiday cottages.
