A traditional Highland cottage, Braehouse is nestled into the hillside and overlooks a vista of islands to the north. Recently refurbished its double room is ideal for a romantic retreat for two.
Its elevated position is great for spotting wildlife. From the garden you’re likely to see deer in the surrounding parks, sometimes appearing with their spotted young early in the summer mornings. In autumn, from this cottage especially, you’ll no doubt hear the roar of rutting stags as they gather and defend their harem of females.
The enclosed garden has a picnic bench where you can dine in warmer weather, and also features a sun porch ideal for admiring the area’s famous sunsets. During the summer months, it’s late before the sun finally sinks behind the distant horizon of island hills. At mid-summer it scarcely becomes dark, and you can track the progress of the sun just below the horizon.
The kitchen has cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge with freezing compartment and the living room has freesat television. For the ultimate relaxation after those long walks, the bathroom has a jacuzzi bath.
All of our properties are supplied by private water sources, burns or springs. The water is tested by the local authority environmental health department each year and is perfectly safe to drink and to use for washing or cooking. Guests who may prefer the taste of processed water rather than the real thing are welcome to bring their own supplies of drinking water.
On occasion, this cottage is available to book for 3 days at a time. Please phone our estate office to check availability.
