Swordle Byre

This converted byre is a stylish combination of old and new. The original walls and courtyard host a fresh, modern interior – stretch out in the large living area with its traditional log burning stove and 42 inch wide-screen television with satellite TV.

There’s plenty of living and sleeping space here for large families or groups. In total there are five bedrooms (three doubles and two twin), all of which are en-suite. There are also two sofa beds, if your group consists of over ten people.

Swordle Beach and its pristine white sands are just a five minute walk away. Mid-summer sunset here is breathtaking – when the sun finally sinks behind the Cuillins of Rum late at night it remains just below the horizon until daybreak. In winter the byre offers you and yours a cozy nest to settle down in, maybe after a bracing walk along the rugged coast or surrounding hills.

The kitchen has a cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. There are two additional toilets by the entrance.

Further Information

All of our properties are supplied by private water sources, burns or springs. The water is tested by the local authority environmental health department each year and is perfectly safe to drink and to use for washing or cooking. Guests who may prefer the taste of processed water rather than the real thing are welcome to bring their own supplies of drinking water.

On occasion, this cottage is available to book for 3 days at a time. Please phone our estate office to check availability.
